Chill
Out!

The S Club party hard and they work even harder, but how do the Clubsters unwind and take it easy?

So what do you do to chill out?

Jo: I know this doesn't sound v. cool, but I go down the bingo! I love it and it really relaxes me. You always have a laugh with a few mates at the bingo.

Tina: It's the simple things really for us, 'cause we're rushing around so much. You just wanna laze around and do nothing.

Rachel: Yeah, exactly - like for me it would be staying in and watching EastEnders!

Bradley: I put my headphones on, slip a smooth CD into my Discman, close my eyes and drift off!

Jon: He's so lucky that he can do that! It takes me much longer to relax. I've been trying loadsa things like deep breathing and listening to chill-out music. Eventually I always drop off, tho'!

Hannah: I'd go out with my mates - that's when I'm at my most relaxed, when I'm out partying!

Paul: You are so strange!

What makes your perfect lacy day?

Jon: If I knew I was gonna have a whole day to myself I'd go mad the night before and then spend the whole day in bed!

Bradley: Yeah, wake up really late, but not actually get up, y'know, just stay in bed and watch hours and hours o' telly in your jim-jams.

Rachel: I'd get up really late and just totally mooch around, then meet my mates for a late lunch and we'd stay out all afternoon and eventually all night!

Paul: A long lie-in would deffo be on the cards, 'cause we never get 'em these days.

Hannah: Yeah, but then staying in bed 'til half past nine would be a lie-in for us!

Jo: I'd spent the entire day in the bath! I'd take candles and some music and soak for hours.

Tina: Oh yeah, that sounds good! I'll do that too! But obv. not in the same bathroom!

Bradley: Yeah, but you're all missing out the key ingredient - someone to laze around with! What's the point of having all that time if you've got no one to hook up with?

Have you ever tried any spiritual-type stuff to help you chill out?

Jon: I've tried loadsa different things 'cause I find it quite hard to relax these days, but nothing beats Jo's massages!

Paul: Oh yeah - she is the queen of massages!

Jo: I am an internationally renowned masseuse - if the band ever finishes I can always do that!

Hannah: She's our masseur-tester. If we ever go abroad and want to get one, we send Jo first and she susses then out for us!

Jo: Yeah and I can safely say the best ones in the world are in Germany and Japan. Germany's good 'cause the people really get into it and use some lovely oils, but the best place for working out all the stress and untying all your bits is Japan. The masseurs won't use their hands 'cause they don't like that kinda physical contact, but they get seriously stuck in with their elbows and knees instead!

When are you at your most relaxed these days?

Jo: About three in the morning when I'm asleep!

Bradley: It's gonna be when I know we've got no work the next day, then I can chill out properly.

Rachel: Absolutely, when I know I'm gonna get some time to myself then I can relax.

Paul: I'm relaxed when I'm on stage performing actually, then it's just us and the crowd.

Who's the most chilled member of S Club, and who's the biggest stress-head?!

All: Bradley's chilled!

Bradley: Well yeah, I guess I am!

Tina: Brad's so chilled out he's asleep!

Rachel: I reckon I'm the biggest stress-head.

Jon: I don't think you're a massive stress-head but I think you worry loads. You worry the most in the band, but it's only 'cause you care.

Rachel: Aah! That's so sweet, thank you, Jon.

Hannah: Jo can stress too tho', but then again I think we all can a bit 'cause we work so hard and don't get enough sleep!

What's the most relaxing smell in the world?

Jo: Vanilla - anything with the smell of vanilla essence chills me out.

Rachel: When it starts getting warm and everything kind of heats up and you get that summer smell, you know?

Jon: Mine's gotta be the smell of freshly mown grass - I love it!

Tina: I know it's weird, but I love the smell of petrol!

Bradley: There's this incense stick called 'Opium' that I have in my flat and that chills me out totally.

Paul: I love the smell of the sea, and we're so lucky to have been filming by the beach in America.

Hannah: Fresh air, just fresh, country air. I love that, I always take a really good lung-full when I get the chance!

What's the most relaxing holiday you've ever been on?

Tina: It was a helluva long time ago 'cause we don't get any time to ourselves these days. It was in Greece and I just remember being there and not having a care in the world.

Jo: I've not been on holiday since I've been in the band but I've got it all planned out in my head - I'm gonna go to Mauritius for a fortnight!

Bradley: I went away to Italy recently and that was pretty chilled.

Rachel: Marbella with my mum and dad. That was great, I sooo need to do it again soon.

If you don't get enough 'Me' time, how do we know that you're stressed?

Jon: I just get really quiet and won't speak to anyone, and seeing as I'm normally so chatty people can soon tell!

Jo: I'm not as subtle as that, I just scream and yell!

Hannah: Jo's great, she just shouts: 'I am sooooo stressed! Stay out of my way!'

Rachel: I just get irritable and everything niggles me.

Paul: Rach's so funny 'cause she gets all rock starry and starts scowling at everyone!

Tina: I'm a snapper! I just snap at people!
