The Seven Deadly Sins

Put together seven polished pop stars and seven deadly sins and what do you have? A real hotchpotch of naughtiness and some seriously sinful shenanigans!

Rachel - Pride

When was the last time you felt really proud?

It has to be when we were on tour. It wasn't that I was just proud of myself, I was proud of everybody. It's such an achievement to go on tour and we'd waited so long to do it.

When did you last feel you should swallow your pride and apologise?

I can be quite stubborn, but I can see if I'm in the wrong and I don't mind apologising. I hate arguing anyway, so I tend not to fall out with people very often. I haven't needed to apologise lately because I haven't had an argument in a long time. The last time was probably with my boyfriend.

Do people ever tell you they're proud of you?

My mum has. In fact, all my family have, but it's not something they say all the time. You always feel proud when someone you're close to does well, but it's nice to hear it about yourself, too, sometimes!

Have you ever 'cut off your nose to spite your face'?

I did once when Tina and I had an argument over something stupid. We're both quite stubborn and we don't argue that much, but when we do, we don't talk for about a day and then we'll be friends again. That only happens when we're both tired and moody though. I'm most likely to take something out on Jo, work wise, as I'm probably closest to her, but she'd take things out on me as well.

When did you last feel really proud of one of the S Clubbers?

I always do! It's the same feeling you have for brothers or sisters. It was probably on our last video shoot when we were all dressed up and it looked so brilliant. I looked at them all and thought aaaah!

Have you ever shed a little tear through pride?

I am very emotional. Not over-emotional, but quite sensitive to things. The last time I cried with pride was when we went to No 1 with Bring It All Back. That was our first one and it was very emotional. It was mostly the girls who cried though, none of the boys!

Tina - Envy

Describe the last time you felt envious?

I was quite jealous of my best friend Zoe, when she got tickets to the Grand Prix cos I couldn't go because of work. I'd love to go to the Grand Prix! It's like football - I never really watch or play it, but I'd love to go and see the World Cup cos that's always really exciting.

Were you even more envious after the event?

Well, apparently she went to one of the parties. She's terrible though cos I don't think she knew who any of the drivers were or what they looked like, so if she did meet one of them she wouldn't have known, ha-ha! Jenson Button's quite nice, isn't he?!

Have you ever not felt happy for a friend when something good has happened to them?

No. I'd never be like that because if something good happened to me and my friend wasn't happy for me, that would take away my happiness. If it was obvious and you could tell how they felt, that would really hurt. Oh no, I want my friends to do well. That's what friends are for.

Are your friends ever envious of you?

I don't think so. I have a handful of friends who I'm really close to and we're like sisters. I really trust them. I talk about my job as if it was a normal nine to five, but when we're together we hardly talk about work anyway. We might skim over it if something really funny happened or if we met someone massive, but that's about it.

Which pop star are you most jealous of?

That's a hard question because there are lots of people who I admire but the level of fame they've attained is something I wouldn't want. I admire people who are successful but don't really get recognised - like Bill Gates.

Why do you turn green with envy?

Because green is the worst colour. Your bogies are green, ha-ha!

Have any members of the band ever been jealous of you?

Oh, I couldn't say - just little things that we keep within the band. At the end of the day we're all human and I've got to work with these people!

Hmm. OK. Well, tell us who's the most envious person in the band?

Rachel's quite bad like that. She's not as bad as she used to be, but she's one of those people who, if I was eating something, she'd have to have a little bit of it as well. It's quite funny!

Bradley - Sloth

What's the laziest thing you've done recently?

We had a week off when we finished our tour and I stayed in bed for pretty much the whole time. It was fantastic - watching TV and eating in bed, dropping crumbs everywhere, ha-ha! All I did was have my mates around to play PlayStation. They only sat on the bed though, they didn't get in bed with me! That was how I spent my days but night-time was different. Well, there was no way I was going to stay in at night - I'm a vampire!

What's the longest you've slept for in one session?

Probably about 18, 19 hours. I can do that on regular basis though, ha-ha! If I feel like it, I just sleep, sleep, sleep. If I do happen to need the toilet, I'll get up and go and then go back to sleep - back to my lovely bed!

Have any of the other S Clubbers suggested that you try taking, say, energy drinks?

No they haven't actually! I'm not really into Red Bull or anything like that. I like to drink root beer when it's hot though. It's good for you cos it keeps you going and it doesn't have any glucose in it. I used to think it tasted horrible, but now I like it. Some people think it tastes like petrol!

Would it be out of question for you to develop an addiction to the gym?

I did start doing weightlifting when we were filming our last series, but I haven't done it a lot since. I remember getting into it in a big way though, so I could imagine myself becoming a bit addicted.

How much do you like spending time slobbing out by yourself?

I love it! Last night I had a good night on my own cos we all went back to our hotel rooms and I had the chance to watch the news for a bit. I love watching the news, it's wicked - it's my fave programme. I watched the Emperor's New Groove, too, and I was in hysterics. That's a wicked film!

Bradley, have you ever fallen asleep while getting, ahem, 'busy'?

(Laughing.) No, never. Well, actually, if I'm just chilling out with my girl and we're watching a film after a busy day, I'd probably fall asleep from being tired. But I definitely wouldn't fall asleep while we were kissing or smooching, ha-ha!

Be honest, who's the laziest S Clubber of them all?

I'm not actually that lazy, even though my character is. But I guess if I'm really honest, it's probably me and Tina!

Paul - Lust

Who was the last girl you lusted over?

I lust over people like Elle McPherson or Claudia Schiffer. When I saw Elle McPherson on the World Music awards wearing a see-through dress with no knickers, I was like 'Cor!' When people are performing really well, I find that sexy, too. Like Skin from Skunk Anansie - she's a hard-core. I like her a lot! If someone's talented, it makes them look sexy.

Honestly now, have you ever fancied a mate's mum?

Oh my God, I fancied my ex-girlfriends mum! Not properly I suppose, but she was in extremely good shape for a lady of her age, ha-ha! My girlfriend knew about it and thought it was funny!

Have you ever experienced lust more than love?

No, actually. I suppose the opportunity for lust is there if you want it, especially in show business, but I just don't go for that. It doesn't do yourself, as an individual, any good really. It is possible to find love in show business, but you'd have to really work at it.

Who's the most lustful person in the band?

Bradley's quite saucy. He's always like, 'Hey girls!' He's quite forward and upfront with girls in general. Not in a bad way though.

Lust or love at first sight?

If you see someone and think they're gorgeous, then it's lust, isn't it? I've never had thunder and lightning bolts from love at first sight, but you can have thunder and lightning bolts from lust.

Has lust ever made you act like a price plum?

Yeah! The first time I was in LA, there was an extra I got to know quite well and was really chatty with. She was lovely - very friendly and incredibly good-looking and I did lust after her. I went in for the kill and really wasn't subtle about it, ha-ha! She didn't turn me down completely, but things were getting heated and a line was definitely drawn - and not by me!

Who was the last person to lust after you?

I'm not sure, but there's a chance a girl in our supporting cast liked me. Bradley and I filmed a scene the other day and later going back in the bus, which has lots of seats in it, she came over and said, 'I'm going to sit next to you.' But it could just be her being friendly, couldn't it?!

Jo - Anger

When did you last lose your rag?

I haven't lost my temper for ages! Actually, there was one time recently when I was out shopping and I just lost it completely. I only had an hour to shop for all the silly stuff like toiletries, but everyone kept asking for a photo or an autograph. I'm just a normal person who wants to do my shopping and have some time for myself sometimes!

Have you ever had a pop at someone who didn't deserve it?

I do warn people before I snap. The rest of the guys know me and they can tell when I'm angry. If I get really tired, then I have been known to snap there and then. It's cos I don't put on a front. What I am is just what you get.

What really gets your goal?

If someone's snappy towards me, that really annoys me. But little things don't annoy me, like if my foods late or if I have to queue. I'm quite patient about stuff like that.

Do you react badly if someone has a go at you?

I either get really stubborn and make it last even longer by not backing down or get hurt and upset and sulk quietly in the corner. I can definitely sulk, but not for days at a time!

Are you good at arguing?

Oh definitely! I always have something to say and I always have to have the last word. Well, you have to get it out in the open, don't you?! There are times when I have to count to ten and walk away though.

What do you argue about most in the band?

Really stupid things like if someone takes someone else's drink. Oh, and Bradley's constant rapping. Pathetic things that shouldn't be an issue can blow up if we're tired or bored.

Who's the peacemaker?

Usually Rachel sorts it out, but it depends who's arguing. It's a natural thing with Rachel to calm people down.

Do any S Clubbers need to take an anger-management course?

Ha-ha, Tina probably needs to attend an anger-management course. Don't get me wrong, she's not always like that, but she does have outbursts from time to time.

Jon - Greed

Do you always want more of everything?

Yeah, but hopefully in a good way. When I was younger, I used to be really, really snidey. Me and my sister used to go down the shop and buy penny sweets. I'd scoff mine really quickly then say to my sister, 'Right, let's play this game where we have to share!' and I'd end up eating half of hers as well! She was only four, ha-ha!

Are you into status symbols?

I'm not that greedy for status symbols. Bradley's very particular about the clothes he wears - what colours he wears and what kind of image he portrays. Rachel is kind of the glamour girl, but I don't think she goes over the top. I'd really love a car but I can't drive, so I have a horse instead!

A horse? That's a bit snazzy, isn't it?

I fell in love with her and it turned out she was for sale so I said, 'I'm just going to do it. I'm going to buy her!' She was £2,500, which was a bargain. Much cheaper than a car!

Does wealth lead to happiness?

No, absolutely not. It can buy you things that make you happy, like cars and horses. But at the end of the day it doesn't make you happy. The people around you make you happy.

Have you ever gone off someone for seeming greedy?

Not necessarily greedy, but just the whole money thing. People saying, 'Oh my God, look what he's wearing', or, 'You shouldn't wear those together!' It really annoys me when people won't be seen dead in clothes from C&A. As soon as I walk into some places, especially in London, people really look me up and down.

Finally, is greed ever attractive?

If someone's greedy in an ambitious way, say to achieve, then that can be pretty cool!

Hannah - Gluttony

When was the last time your eyes were bigger than your belly?

Quite recently actually, as the portions are massive in America, ha-ha! Me, Paul and Bradley went for breakfast the day before we started filming and the menu was absolutely huge. We all like our food so the table was just packed. Even the lady serving us was like, 'OK, I think that's enough now!' We did feel like pigs afterwards, ha-ha!

Tell us, exactly what did you order?

I wasn't too bad. I just had a big fry-up with pancakes with maple syrup. But I'd already had cereal at the apartment!

Do you often stuff yourself silly?

I don't know what happens - sometimes I just fancy everything! Rachel's probably the worst for ordering food just in case she feels like it! Rachel's the queen of ordering ten things but then eating a bit of lettuce from one plate and a grain of rice from another.

When was the last time you gobbled something you didn't even like?

Um, I gave sushi a good go the other night although I didn't go for the raw things at all - they looked all slimy! I ended up going for the normal-looking things in the middle, like the avocado and cucumber.

If you were starving, which S Clubber would knock up the best nosh for you?

If you go to Bradley's, you're given a can of coke and a pizza, whereas Jon would cook something fresh. So for junk food I'd go for Bradley's and for the healthy option I'd go to Jon's.

What's the best meal you've had recently?

My dad's barbecue. He's a champion cook! We had sausages, steaks - everything! It was so good my nan, who's 80 and absolutely tiny, ate what my dad ate and asked for extra sausages! Usually she'll only have a little cheese sandwich with no crusts so obviously it went down really well!

Whose stomach is always rumbling?

We all have a bit of a whine sometimes. If we have an early call, we go straight into work without eating breakfast and we're all starving after an hour. Sometimes Rachel feels faint if she doesn't eat and needs a little sugar intake every hour.

Who speaks with their mouth full?

Oh, that's Paul. We don't stop him cos it's just a part of him and we're used to it now. Well, I do it as well, ha-ha! I have this habit that if I'm enjoying my food, like if something is creamy, I slurp it in and out of my mouth. I forget where I am. I know I do it - let's just hope the band haven't noticed yet!

Thanks so much to Eve for this!
